The School of Media Arts & Design (SMAD) CDMX Study Abroad Program offers students an immersive experience in Mexico, combining academic exploration with cultural enrichment. As a participant, I had the privilege of studying the nuances of Creative Advertising, diving deep into the distinct markets and diverse demographics that define the region!
Problem
How can we design a website to document our experiences within the SMAD CDMX program to promote to students?
Solution
I created a dynamic website that incorporates the values, mission, and experience of the program

Plan
We identified the purpose of the website: to document the study abroad program’s experiences, focusing on creative advertisement and inclusion. We defined the target audience: prospective students, educators, and industry professionals interested in the program. We outlined key features, such as interactive storytelling, photo galleries, and testimonials, to showcase the program’s impact.

Design
We created wireframes and mockups for the website’s structure, including the homepage, program highlights, and student stories. We used tools like Figma to build interactive prototypes that demonstrated the user journey and visual design. We gathered feedback from stakeholders to ensure the design aligned with the program’s values of creativity and inclusion.

Iterate
We developed the website incrementally, starting with core features like the interactive timeline and photo galleries. We conducted usability testing with program participants and stakeholders to evaluate the website’s functionality and user experience. We refined the design and content based on feedback, ensuring the website was engaging and accessible.

Deliver
We launched the website and promoted it to the target audience, highlighting the program’s unique focus on creative advertisement and inclusion. We monitored user engagement and gathered feedback to identify areas for improvement. We planned updates to add new content, such as additional student stories and program updates, to keep the website fresh and relevant.
